Día de los Muertos Concert

On November 1, 2024, the Latino Equity Fund proudly hosted a reception celebrating the Día de los Muertos Concert at the Boston Symphony Orchestra, bringing together over 250 members of the Latino community for an unforgettable evening of culture, art, and music. The event, held in partnership with Surfside Capital, Single Point Partners, Boston Pops, and Amantolli, honored the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos while showcasing incredible local artistry and musical talent.

The reception featured stunning contributions from local artists, including an altar created by Maria Nielsen, owner of Amantolli, and vibrant artwork by Mexican artist Dave Ortega. Guests were also treated to a performance by the renowned Veronica Robles and her Mariachi Ensemble, whose music set the tone for the evening’s celebration.

The highlight of the night was the Boston Pops' inaugural Día de Muertos concert, conducted by Keith Lockhart and featuring Veronica Robles, guitarist Zaira Meneses, and a program that celebrated the depth and variety of Mexican music. The concert included a world premiere of “Tres Canciones Mexicanas (arr. Rodriguez), Michael Giacchino’s Suite from Coco, pieces from Moncayo Huapago, and Arturo Rodriguez’s Mosaico Mexicano.

The reception created a space for remembrance, connection, and celebration, reflecting the vibrancy and resilience of Latino traditions. The evening was a testament to the power of culture and music to unite communities, and it underscored the mission of the Latino Equity Fund to celebrate and uplift Latino heritage.
