Understanding the Asian Business Landscape in the Commonwealth:
A Snapshot of Resilience and Impact
This event celebrated the release of a research brief, A Snapshot of Asian-Owned Businesses in Massachusetts, unveiling a snapshot of Asian-owned businesses in Massachusetts. This brief captures the resilience and resourcefulness of Asian entrepreneurs in the Commonwealth and highlights the significant contributions of Asian-owned businesses to the state's economy, which add billions of dollars while facing numerous barriers to accessing services that support businesses.
The snapshot shared at this event is part of a broader research effort that seeks to capture and illuminate the nuances and diversity of the AAPI business community. The completed report will be released later this year and will share key findings with recommendations and strategies to drive meaningful change and support the growth and success of Asian-owned businesses.
This research project is a partnership between the Asian Business Empowerment Council, the Institute for Asian American Studies at UMass Boston, and Boston Indicators and is generously supported by the Asian Community Fund at the Boston Foundation.
