The Vision Project Report: The Degree Gap - Honing in on College Access, Affordability & Degree Completion in Massachusetts

The fourth annual Vision Project report was released at an Understanding Boston forum held on June 8, 2016.

Vision Project Report coverThe 2016 report focuses on the challenges ahead for public higher education in the Commonwealth.  The report was presented by Carlos E. Santiago, Commissioner, Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.  Secretary Jim Peyser, Executive Office of Education, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, offered remarks that were followed by a panel discussion.

The report shows how the Massachusetts system of public higher education compares with other state systems by tracking performance across the seven outcome areas of the Vision Project.  Overall, the report finds that the system’s performance remains relatively flat, with some areas of improving or worsening performance as noted in the report.
