Lisa Harbury Lerner Memorial Fund for Fauna, Flora and Mental Health

Lisa passed away peacefully on January 6, 2021 at 58 having suffered from mental health challenges throughout her life. She loved dogs and was an expert perennial gardener. She was the consummate professional in the field of dermatopathology. She excelled at teaching. There was nothing more important to Lisa than having a happy family. The loss of her son Max was devastating. She was stymied by the invasiveness of state medical licensing boards seeking information on prior mental healthcare and treatment over the life of physicians. This stigma and the fear of potential impact on her license limited her seeking appropriate care.

This fund will provide grants to charitable organizations that help animals, focus on the environment, and ameliorate the stigma associated with mental health and its treatment.
