The Hudson Sullivan Foundation
It is with a profound sense of purpose that we introduce The Hudson Sullivan Foundation, established in loving memory of Hudson Alexander Sullivan, a remarkable man who left us far too soon on August 4, 2024, at the age of 38.
Despite the shortness of his life, Hudson left an immeasurable impact on his community and everyone he encountered.
Hudson had a successful career in brand strategy and marketing in both New York and Toronto. While he will be remembered by his colleagues for his creative brilliance and talent, it is the way in which he inspired those around him that will be his biggest professional legacy. Hudson never turned down an opportunity to mentor, always offering guidance and encouragement with incredible insight and patience.
Hudson was also an exceptional all-around athlete, known for a competitive spirit that inspired teammates and brought people together, but his love for sport went beyond the game itself; it was the shared experiences, the laughter, and the lifelong friendships.
Hudson's athletic and professional achievements are surpassed only by the profound impact he had on those around him and the generous and compassionate way in which he lived his life.
Hudson gave back to his community in so many ways by supporting global and local charities dear to his heart, as well as on an individual level with his time, support, and kindness. As one story goes, Hudson often played basketball with a group of local kids at a court near his apartment in New York. Realizing the boys needed new shoes, he gifted them each their first pair of Air Jordans. This is just one example of the selfless way in which Hudson lived his life.
The Foundation will aim to continue Hudson’s legacy by supporting initiatives that reflect the values he personified - generosity, inclusivity, creativity, mentorship, opportunity – through sponsorships, educational opportunities, and support of charitable causes. Above all else, the Foundation will honor his memory by spreading the same joy and goodness that defined his remarkable life.
Hudson is survived by his best friend and wife, Katie; their young sons, Casey (2) and Wyatt (4); his sister, Hilary (partner, Aaron); his parents, Brian and Carol, and in-laws, Jane, John (Christine), and Chris (Rachel) Nixon; nephews Jack (also a beloved godson) and Miles; as well as cherished cousins, aunts, uncles and an endless circle of friends.
