Boston Foundation donors are young high tech professionals and retired senior citizens, volunteers and executives at major corporations, bankers, artists, doctors, venture capitalists, lawyers and teachers.
Although these donors may be different from each other, they do have one thing in common. They believe in the power of community—and of giving—to add meaning to their lives and work.
Some have established their own Donor Advised Funds, and are actively engaged in the grantmaking process. Others take advantage of the planned and legacy giving opportunities offered by the Foundation to create a lasting legacy for the future. A number contribute to the Permanent Fund for Boston, which serves as a virtual endowment for Greater Boston—providing the flexible funds that give Foundation staff the resources to respond to the most pressing concerns of the day. And an increasing group of donors contribute to the Civic Leadership Fund to support the Boston Foundation’s “beyond grantmaking” activities.
